Always Something

Isn't it wonderful that there is always SOMETHING to be happy about? Even on your worst day ever, there is always something, even if it seems small, to be happy and grateful for. I look around and see so many things to be happy about, from simple things like the fact that I have eyes to see with to a home to live in. So many people in the world do not have these things. Sometimes it's easy to focus on the negative things and overlook these simple wonderful things. I think that it's important to take time each day to be thankful for something, no matter how big or small. Let the worries go, even for a minute, and just be happy about something and it will do a world of good. I think that's wonderful!

Love These Undies!

Isn't it wonderful when you find a super comfy, super cute pair of undies that don't give you a wedgie every time you move? I found these undies by Diesel that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! They're bikinis and come in all kinds of fun colors and patterns. I would descibe them as men's inspired with a cute, girly flair. They are made of 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so they keep their shape without stretching out. I loved mine so much that I bought my hubby a pair of the men's boxer briefs to try and he loved them too! That's right guys, Diesel makes underwear for both men and women!

I have to tell you something that someone said to me many, many years ago but something that I will never forget. She said that she always makes sure she has on cute underwear incase something ever happens to her and doctors or paramedics need to take her clothes off she always wanted to be sure that she had on good underwear. Clean House

Sometimes I don't think there is anything more wonderful than a clean house. Having 4 boys around the house doesn't make this a small feat. I have a hard enough time keeping everyone fed, bathed, done with their homework, driven here and there, etc. I tend to put the housework last because that's just the way that it falls. So, on this Saturday, when we are all recovering from a stomach bug, we are going to clean the house. Boys will pick up and take care of all of their things that they've so conveniently left everywhere around the house, and I will be able to get to the bottom of all of the mess. I will vaccuum, dust, clean bathrooms and FINALLY have the clean house that I've been waiting all week for. I think that everyone has to agree that a clean house is a magnificently wonderful thing!

Sleep

Isn't sleep a wonderful thing? As a mom with a 6 month old I don't really get too much of it so it makes me appreciate it that much more! There are so many people in this world with sleep problems as well, that the ones who are lucky enough to actually get a solid 7-8 hours a night should be so thankful. I'm writing this because I'm here but don't feel really "here". My mind is so tired and as I'm typing this my eyes feel like they're going to close. I do believe that some people need more sleep than others and I just happen to be someone who needs a lot. As a kid I don't think my mom ever had to fight with me to go to bed. I was always an early riser too though. It wasn't until my older 2 boys started sleeping later that I started sleeping in a bit more. When I say "a bit more" I mean until like 7:00 a.m. because that's late for me. The baby is still waking up in the night usually just once for a bottle and then lately has been waking up for the day at 5:30. Ugh! Hopefull soon he'll start snoozing a little later and skipping that nightly feeding and until then I will continue to be jealous of the lucky souls who get uninterrupted sleep on a nightly basis, because sleep truly is a wonderful thing.

I love when you read a quote that really gets you thinking about things, about your life and the world around you. This quote did just that for me this morning when I read it. The world DOES need people who are alive! When people are alive they are excited and passionate and they share that excitement and passion with those that they come in contact with and that helps to spread the joy. Too many people go about their lives not really "alive". They just go about their day in a routine, mundane way. I'm not saying that routine is bad, I'm a creature of habit and I like routines. But sometimes I think that we mindlessly live our lives doing what needs to be done without finding any joy in it. People work at jobs for security, but hate every second that they are there. Is this living? This quote reminds me how important it is to teach our children to find what makes them happy and then find a way to make money doing it. I want my children to be happy, like we all do. If we could all just find one thing that makes us feel ALIVE, full of that unwavering excitement and passion and then embrace it with all that we've got the world just might be a better place and that would be a wonderful thing!
